Outfall Tunnel, California

The Outfall Tunnel is a 7-mile tunnel that will pass through the cities of Carson, Los Angeles and Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles County, California. The tunnel will carry treated water from the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in Carson to the existing ocean outfalls at Royal Palms Beach in San Pedro.

SENER is in charge of the precast segment detailed design (geometrical and structural) and provides a thorough review and interpretation of all available geotechnical information including geotechnical parameters, stratigraphy, and assessment of complex events (seismic and squeezing).
