RAIL AND TRANSIT PROJECT

Cross Bay Transit Project: Redwood City to the Tri-cities, California

The Cross Bay Transit Project is a key part of an ambitious transportation and urban development program to connect Redwood City and the Tri-cities area (Newark‐Fremont‐Union City) through the now abandoned Dumbarton rail corridor with a new high quality, high-capacity public transit system, as well as complementary bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

The rebuilt rail line would connect to the existing rail network in Northern California, to provide new rail transit and regional services between the East Bay, the Peninsula, and the San Joaquin River Valley.

SENER provided rail advisory services to Plenary and Facebook (owners) from September 2017 to December 2018.

The project included:

  • Rail Concept Design

  • Conceptual Capital and O&M Cost Estimation

  • Engineering support

  • Technical analysis of engineering elements in the corridor

  • Rail Technology Alternatives Analysis

  • Definition of Operational Scenarios

  • Project Delivery Advisory

  • P3 Advisory
